tales from the moonlit path

 The Moonlit Path

In a quiet village, nestled deep,
Where the hills in silence sweep,
Lived a man, alone and worn,
With a heart that had been torn.

His name was Eamon, a man of years,
Who had lived through joy and countless fears,

But now he wandered, lost and stray,
Seeking peace to guide his way.

He had once loved, with all his soul,
A woman whose heart made him whole.
Her name was Lila, bright and fair,
With golden hair and eyes that cared.

But fate, as cruel as it could be,
Had taken her from him, leaving him to see,
The world, as cold and full of pain,
A never-ending, endless rain.

Eamon walked through days and nights,
In search of solace, in search of light,
But the world he knew had turned to gray,
And hope seemed far, so far away.

One night, beneath a sky so bright,
He walked the forest, guided by moonlight.
The trees whispered, the winds did sigh,
And stars above twinkled in the sky.

His heart was heavy, his mind unclear,
But the moon's soft glow brought him near,
To a path that wound through the trees,
A path that seemed to carry a breeze.

He followed it, with steady pace,
Not knowing where it would take his place.
But deep within, a voice so calm,
Whispered to him, a healing balm.

"Walk the path, let your soul be free,
For peace is waiting, just wait and see.
The journey's long, but the end is near,
Let go of sorrow, let go of fear."

And so he walked, his heart now light,
The moon above, the stars so bright.
The path ahead seemed to glow with grace,
As if the earth was embracing his face.

He came upon a clearing vast,
Where the moon's light was free at last.
A river flowed, its waters clear,
And the sound of peace was all he could hear.

Eamon knelt by the flowing stream,
And for the first time in years, it seemed,
His heart was whole, his spirit free,
The sorrow lifted, replaced by glee.

He closed his eyes, and took a breath,
No longer haunted by love or death.
For in that moment, he understood,
The healing power of nature’s good.

The river whispered, soft and sweet,
"Your journey ends, your heart complete.
Let the moon guide you, let the stars be near,

For love and peace are always here."

And so, Eamon smiled at last,
Letting go of the pain of the past.
For in the moonlit path he had found,
The peace he sought, all around.

From that day on, he walked with grace,
No longer lost, no longer misplaced.
The village knew him, a man reborn,
With a heart that once again could mourn.

But now, his tears were not of sorrow,
But of gratitude for a new tomorrow.
The moonlit path had shown him the way,
To live in peace, day after day.
